Eligibility for the Weatherization Assistance Program

The Weatherization Assistance Program is designed to help income-eligible households improve comfort, reduce energy costs, and address health and safety concerns. To qualify, a household’s income must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Priority is given to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and families with children. The program is available to single-family homes, manufactured homes, and multifamily residences, ensuring broad access for residents across Georgia.

If you qualify, your local community action agency will schedule an in-home energy audit conducted by a certified energy auditor.

Energy Assistance for Savings & Efficiency (EASE)

Eligibility

The EASE Program provides free energy-efficiency upgrades to Georgia Power customers who meet income requirements. Households must have an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level to qualify. Priority is often given to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and families with higher energy burdens. Once approved, a program contractor will schedule a home energy assessment to determine which upgrades will provide the greatest benefits.

Covered Measures

Eligible households receive no-cost upgrades based on their home energy assessment, which may include:

  • Attic Insulation

  • Air Sealing & Duct Sealing

  • LED Lighting

  • Smart Thermostats

  • HVAC Tune-ups and Efficiency Improvements

  • Water-Saving Devices

All improvements are installed at no cost to the homeowner, helping income-qualified families reduce monthly bills, improve comfort, and address energy waste.
